Tom Barton

Project Development Officer - East Africa

Tom joined Disability Africa in 2016. He works with our East African partners on the development and delivery of projects in Zambia and Kenya. He also leads on fundraising from grant-making organisations.  

Tom studied History and Politics at the University of Exeter, followed by a Masters in Conflict, Security and Development. With a long held interest and passion for international development, he has experience of the NGO sector both in terms of academic study and practical experience in the field.

Whilst at university, he travelled to Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia, for a work experience placement with a local NGO and also conducted field work for his MA thesis in Bangladesh.

Upon completion of his Masters in September 2015, Tom worked for three months as a volunteer on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) projects in a rural area of Nicaragua, Central America.
